Question by TheCastled94: How can I get out of my depression quickly?
For the past while, I’ve been in a melodramatic/emo depression. It’s mainly due to family issues and pressures in college. The only thing that’s been keeping me happy are my friends, but my depression has been starting to drive them away. As such, I want to change so I feel less melodramatic and depressed all the time. I want to have a more laid back/”professional” personality so I can be more likeable. The only things I can think of to do this are to meditate regularly and maybe take some meds, but those are just guesses. Anyone know what I can do to get rid of the depression and become more positive/neutral? Thanks for any help.

Do something you love or be with someone you love. I love exercise and thats what I do when im sad or depressed.

  1. I am in high school and I have depression & anxiety I take ADD medicine to help me focus in school and a depression medication but the depression medication takes about 4-6 weeks to see an affect and so far it is working better than before. I also get really pressured by school constantly.

  2. If you do not have access to medication, make sure you get plenty of sunlight. Maintain a regular sleep schedule and a healthy diet. As bad as it sounds, sometimes you need to separate yourself from the family “drama”.anyone who truly cares for you will understand:) Good luck!

  3. I agree with Maria, sunlight is very effective in curing depression. Also try to be more positive, you’re probably depressed because you always think negatively.
